 Dr.  E. Christopher Jackson  Bio

  Dr. E. Christopher (Chris) Jackson is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, the second son of Mr. & Mrs. Andrew & Christine Jackson. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree   in English Literature from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. He completed his Master of Divinity degree at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and his Doctor of Ministry degree at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. His ministry experience includes serving in campus ministry at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, and the University of Louisville. Full time professional Campus Ministry positions include nine years at Lincoln University in Missouri and ten years at Tennessee State University, Fisk University and American Baptist College in Nashville. In 1999 he and his wife co-founded Creative Ministry Consultants, which provides seminars, counseling, and ministry consulting on a national basis. He served as Minister of Nurture at the Temple Church and as Adjunct Professor at Tennessee State University in Sociology where he taught Courtship & Marriage and The Family. He currently serves as Senior Pastor of  Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville. Dr. Jackson is an accomplished writer and the author of two books internationally published by Zondervan Publishing House: Straight Talk on Tough Topics, and The Black Christian Single’s Guide to Dating and Sexuality. He wrote the international daily instructional guide for the Baptist World Youth Conference and has also written extensively for the Sunday School Publishing Board and for LifeWay. He has been referenced in Ebony Magazine, Essence Magazine and is a nationally-known speaker and seminar leader for Universities, Singles Groups, and churches of various denominations. He is married to Dr. Coreen D. Jackson, a native of Jamaica who is Director of the TSU Honors Center. She is an ordained minister and holds a Ph.D. from Howard University. Their sons are Joshua, Juleon, and Jemiah. Special interests include music, drama, interpretive movement, reading, nature, visual art, basketball and photography. International travels include West Africa, Bahamas, Jamaica, Spain, Venezuela and Belize. One of his life’s primary objectives in life is to help other people to discover their life purpose. His personal mission statement is “To honor God, pursue purpose, and empower people through practical and creative ministries of teaching, writing, conferencing, and producing the arts.” The Biblical reference that resonates with his heart is a quote from Jesus: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
